New Course with Rabbi Berman: Renegotiating Our Jewish Identity
What does it mean to be part of a people that is far greater than our families, friends, and communities of choice? Being Jewish is not just an identity, set of practices, or even a commitment to shared values. It is a constant attempt to find kedushah, meaning, and purpose through relationships, obligations, boundaries, institutions, arguments, and memories – all of which we continually have to renegotiate. We will study Talmud, Halacha, Jewish thought and philosophy in the Beit Midrash with serious study, conversation, food, and occasional guest teachers joining us.
This new course begins Sunday Morning November 8 and continues Sunday mornings every two weeks
10:30a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Silver Shore Hall/HC Beit Midrash.
Check in with Rabbi Berman for specific dates.
